Pentax HD 35mm f/3.5 AL [IF]

Overview of Pentax HD 35mm f/3.5 AL [IF]

The Pentax HD 35mm f/3.5 AL [IF] is equivalent to a 27.3mm lens as compared to a full frame DSLR (using the long side of the frame).

In aperture/depth of field terms, it is like a 28mm f/2.8 a 35mm full-frame camera, so it is a relatively slow lens, even considering the sensor size. This keeps the lens reasonably compact and light weight and reasonably priced.

The optical formula makes significant efforts to raise image quality, including one glass-molded aspherical element, one hybrid aspherical element, and a high refractive index low dispersion element. These optical efforts show in the field results; it’s a shame that Pentax did not utilize similar efforts with the PENTAX D FA 645 55mm f/2.8 AL [IF] SDM A.
